Mickey's Tavern

If you’ve grown weary of the State Street bar scene, just need a break, or a change from you average college club/bar then you may find just what you’re looking for in Mickey’s Tavern. Now for those of you living in the heart of campus, Mickey’s (located at the end of Willy Street) may end up being a short cab ride away for you – but believe us, its well worth the tiny trek. Anyone craving the vibe of a college house party minus the crashers, idiots, and lack of beverage choice, is sure to dig the atmosphere Mickey’s has got going on. The Tavern is structured like a house, with different colored rooms chocked full of couches, old school photos, and other unique elements. In addition to the rooms, Mickey’s has a pool table, very rad jukebox, and a staff that makes you feel like you’ve been a regular for years. In the summer moths Mickey’s opens its outdoor beer garden/patio, offering what we think is one of the best “outdoor” bar venues to chill out at in downtown Madison. Along with its “come as you are, we’ll serve’em all” atmosphere, Mickey’s turns out a wide variety of drink specials, and cheep pictures of ice cold beer daily and nightly (which always makes my wallet smile). Now some of you may be thinking this all sounds great but what about the bar grub - 2 words… sexy fry.
